What are limits of my L98 stock cam/heads?

Right now it does 8.9s in 8th at 77. Next set of mods are headers, clean injectors, new spark plugs (still using the original ones...repeat, original ones).

Would it be a good idea to siameze port my intake and runners (a stock intake and some LPE runners)?? Not sure if it would make a difference w/ stock cam and heads.

not to much..........free up your breathing, update your ignition, and get some nice suspension pieces.

besides that save your money and do the important things to your engine all at once so that you'll really feel the improvment. or you could do all the above and throw a power adder on so that your into the 12's and be happy with that for a while.

The stock cam is a real limiter on power.
the stock l98 heads when generously ported and upgraded with bigger valves can make 400+ hp.
Siamesed intake runners will really kill the torque of a tpi motor.
You would then need a serious converter and more gear.

Better to get new larger- shorter runners. Or a modified LT-1
intake (short runner).

175k on the plugs? Is that correct? I bet you could drop a couple tenths easy with a new set of plugs.

I took the plugs out when I bought the car at 140K...put in those Platinum +4 plugs. Threw those in the trash at about 170K...the old plugs I put back in. They are the originals...at least from 32K up. Previous owner never changed crap on the car, expect oil now and then.

Honestly, as hard as I have driven this car, I am surprised. The motor has held up real well. Rear, too. The trans sucks crap though.
