2 questions about cam swap
2 questions about cam swap
I'm about done with the cam swap on my ZZ4 350 l used the K- kit by comp to complete the power output of my ZZ4. its about a 510 intake and 525 exhaust, rated at 2,500-6,500. I'm using the 1.6 crane full roller rockers, lm wondering if those 1.6 ratio rockers are gonna fit under the valve covers? the other question l was wondering about; will a torker two manifold adapt to the cylinder heads on my ZZ4?
thanks in advance

Not sure about your first question, but I'd look into the Weiand Stealth intake. idle-6800 rpms.
Also, it's only $110 in summit.

Yes, but what is the lift of your cam?
If you have a high lift one like him and add on the 1.6 then it might be too much.

I thought he was wanting clearance for the valve covers and they do clear mine . If you need clearance for the guides 1.6 rockers add .030 lift. I am running a LT4 cam that calls for the 1.6's with a total lift of .480 and it all fits. I am going with the HOT Cam next month and I expect them to fit also.

At least this is the way I see it.

They are still not going to hit the valve covers if they are the ones built for the centerbolt. The only thing you must watch is hitting the post where the bolts go through.

Increasing the rocker ratio does not require taller valve covers.
The push rod end of the rocker is shorter, which moves the push rod in toward the stud and away from the valve cover; the valve goes down farther, which is farther away from the valve cover; the length of the rocker toward the valve does not change. In no case does any part of the system come closer to the VC.
You might have a problem with full roller rockers fitting under ay given set of valve covers, especially center bolt type, because they're so much wider and therefore there's less space between them for the centerbolt bosses or oil baffles; but that has nothing to do with the ratio.

thanks for the info, lll find out soon enough if the full rollers will fit...... as for now, anyone got any info on the manifold? l dunno if the factory ZZ4 manifold will suffice, any reccomendations? the torker II looks like a pretty decent manifold, not to mention the $96 nice price.
thanks again

Not sure of your heads, but the Weiand Stealth is $110 in summit idle-6800 rpms.
thanks for the info mark, btw, l screwed up on the cam's powerband, l beleive the range of the powerband is 1800-5800 if lm not mistaken, so youre right mark the stealth would probly be a better match, thanks again.
