Head lift question
What is the max lift the stock 305 heads will hold on a TPI 305 in a 89 IROC?

I know the vortecs will only take .460 I found it out the hard way, I destroyed the guides with the lt4 cam. I was afraid the to assume the 305 heads would take even that much......so thanks for setting me up with the info. I may look into a LT1 cam for my newly found 305 TPI

Should have learned by now to just check for yourself.
takes all of 5 minutes.

The problem right not I don't have the time or the correct tools to make a exact measurement. I was wanting some knowledge for the future.
Now if you can tell me how you can dig down to the valve covers and pull one off.......take the rocker lose......remove the valve spring......attach a guage and a test spring all in 5 minutes?
