1/4 mile time
1/4 mile time
i just had my camaro put on the dyno, it made 260 RWHP and 335 ft/lb of tourqe. i wont get it to the track until late spring now that i crushed my leg, but i was wondering if any of you could give me an estimate on what you think my 1/4 mile time would be. i have the minor mods, cam, intake, carb, complete exhaust, and 3.42 gears. i am just wondering, thank you.

IF this guy should be runnin mid 13's with that basic of a set up then I must be missing something!! I have the base 350 crate engine, and all mods combined i'm at about 380 HP engine and the best run I had with my 700r4 with a shiftkit and 2600 stall on my 3.23 lockin rear was a 14.5 from the g-tech. since then i've put a 350 trans with shift kit, com cams XE 480 lift cam, and putting in a spohn torque arm in a week, still been off the road since the start of all that. Anyone have any input as to what I should have/ or should be running?? Cuz I think I should be in the 13's now, but don't see how he could be. Thx

Well, let's see, we both have the same motor. Same cam. I have diff intake, stock stall with 3:73s. and I ran a 15.49, so something is out of tune in my car, I suspect the carb.
Oh, how are you estimating 380HP with only that cam, I don't see heads listed on your mods there. The stock heads on the Goodwrench motor have 8.5:1 compression and are horrible.
I'd say you can hit high 13s when in tune.
just read your sig, we have diff cams but close, mine is .477/.480 , you're no where close to 380hp with stock heads. More like 300 hp, which would be about 240rwhp or so estimated.

i've got the vortec heads, that's what comes on the gm 350 crate engine. And like it says in my sig, is that i've got the performer RPM intake and 650 CFM edelbrock carb. So the book says that the engine out of the box makes what, I think it's 340 HP & TQ, so with all those mods i should be aroudn 370-380 HP or so. So i just dont' see how he could be runnin mid-low 13's with 260 at the wheels, and at the same rate i wonder if I just have something misstuned or soemthign that i'm not running as good as I should be.

I think mid 13s are capable for you, throw in some 3:73s and you'll be good for very low 13s, traction dependent.

K, thx mark, and i'll send u my info on the 3'rd gen meet u'r setting up too. But anyone else have any input as to what they think I or pskel should be running??
He will run that fast because he has 260HP at the wheels not at the flywheel. Hence the 13's. But IMO 380HP on that crate engine is a rather optimistic guess. 380HP is enough to push a 3350lb car to 12 flat so I would guess you are making considerably less power than 380. Just my $0.02
