Some oil on plugs

I pulled my plugs the other day and around the base of them they had a small bit of oil, just a very small amount. Could this be a sign of bad rings?

Rings or valve guides are the more common problems that can cause oily plugs. Were all the plugs oily or just some of them? Doe the engine use oil? If so, how much? Does it smoke at all? If so, when? Sorry for the 20 questions game but it will help narrow down the problem.

Actually, I can't tell if it's consuming oil because my rear main is leaking, so I can't tell how much, if any is burned. It doesnt appear to smoke though. Also, I didn't pull all of them, I will tommorow to see if it's just on a few.
