Questions about smog pump and cats
One of my questions is, is it ok to run a cat without a smog pump? Will it get clogged up if you don't have a smog pumb? and does it make a difference how many miles are on the cat? New, or 80 thousand?
If you don't run with a cat, is that bad for the valves not providing enough back pressure?

If the converter has an air inlet it's best to leave the pump in place. No you don't have any worry without a cat. Many guy's here don't run one, gut the old one. If you don't need an emission inspection it's up to you. Problem is that even though I am exempt, here in PA they stilll want all emission components in place. A cat with 80k, well that's your call. At that mileage handle it with care, it's getting tired.
