Not much to "rebuild" in one of those...
What do you plan on doing to it? About all you can do is put new electrical parts in it (pickup coil, module, wiring) and maybe shim the shaft for less end play.

Yeah that's what I mean. I know it's not like a thousand parts or anything, but I don't have much experience in doing this. I've cleaned the contacts in the cap and on the rotor once before, but that's about it. How would I shim the shaft?

Take the gear off (paying careful attention to which way it goes back on the shaft, and add shims to get the end-play down to .030" or so. You'll probably have to take apart several old distributors to get an assortment of shims.
Sorry for being a pain, but could you explain that further? Diagrams or anything? I don't know what a shim is (on a distributor) and can't quite picture what you're saying to do. Thanks
Just a side-note. I posted this same question on the newsgroups alt.autos.camaro and alt.autos.camaro.firebird. What a bunch of ****** over there! It's like night and day coming on here and talking to people. Everyone here is so nice. TGO rules
