Did you check all the spots I mentioned? I wouldn't be surprised if you found out that the car and the title do not match. And if you ever try to tag the car in a different state, they will pitch a fit if you don't have a VIN plate.

you're going to be in a world of $hit every time a cop stops you. in fact i think it may not be legal to not have a vin tag. i'd be doing some asking and find out and getting one, with the correct rivets.

I have never had a cop check my VIN plate when he pulls me over. Although that would be a problem for you if he did.
Ooh, I can tell you all about the correct rivets.
What you'll probably have to do is take the car down to have it inspected by a deputy. He'll investigate your car and the VIN on the title, and if everything checks out ok, they'll probably assign the car a new VIN number.
At least that's what the inspection b***h told me they were going to do to my cherry GTA that'd I'd gone halfway across the country to get, simply because she didn't like my rivets. Of course there was nothing wrong with my rivets, but I had drive it down to the state capitol to have it inspected to prove that.
good news, when I went back over to the place i bought my car from i asked the lady if she had anyparts laying around that went to it that wasn't in the car, and there was like 3big boxes of car parts and the dash vin plate and the driver side vin plate was laying in one of the boxes and they do match. so joy
