PCV valve and breather questions

Two questions. Can I just attach a breather to my PCV valve rather than it go through the loop? Also, is there a breather that will fit the stock hole on the passenger side valve cover on an L98?

If you're using a MAF setup, the breather in place of the stock PCV vent system will take you directly to the "Code 34" test lane in no time....

I'm talking about a breather attached to the PCV valve, not instead of it. Will it have the same problem? What about a breather in place of the seemingly useless vent from the valve cover to the TB on the passenger side? Yes I'm using a MAF setup.
