EGR/emissions question
Hey everyone. I have a question. Im not too sure about the EGR functions, but I keep gettin the code saying my EGR stuff is going bad. Im not sure if its valve or soleniod or what...but all of that stuff looks pretty crappy. My car is getting inspected this week. Will a funky EGR setup cause me to fail emissions? I dont get the code all the time...just sometimes on longer trips....like an hour. Any ideas? Ive heard it wont mess with emissions...but seems like it should. let me know if I should be worried. I have the new EGR set up...I just dont hav time to install it all. Plus im waiting for my AFPR. Thanks in advance.

EGR affects the NOx in your emissions the most. I get a EGR code once in awhile and I just took my car for an emissions test. I passed NOx way under the limit, leading me to believe that my EGR system is working yet I pull a code for it. Even if it was completely off I think you would still pass.

Phew...ok...that makes me feel better. Thanks. I figured if it affected the emissions at all it would be minor. If anyone else has anymore info let me know. Thanks again!
