Help with motor teardown
I got the heads off the car, and will be adding new heads/carb/headers ASAP.
it gets cold here in the winter, and I doubt i'll have it done any time soon.
Will the engine be fine torn down out in the cold? the block still has antifreeze in it.
And my brother sprayed some wD-40 or liquid wrench down into the cylinders.
Any thing else I should worry about?

Mark, if your going to rip the engine that far down and not finish in the near future it would make more sence to just pull the engine completly and cover it. After all if you rip the heads off your left with what 6 bolts, 8 including the starter holding the engine in.

WD-40 is ok for rust protection for couple days.
Get a can of Rust Check and spray it all over any exposed metal.
It will do a much better job.
Just wipe it off the deck surface when ya go to install the heads,
with some laquer thinner.
Cheap insurance..... try it.
