fits and clearances 350

hi to all.
i have a proyect to re-build my old and smoky 350, i just took the heads away and found dished pistons, a way too large combustion chamber and ridiculous 1.74 intake valves, even so this engine had power. amazing for such a whimp set-up.
anyway, i'm trying to meassure the gap between the pistons and the cylinder walls, at simple wiew seems that the pistons are too small for those bores, i cant find the values on my books, so if anyone knows about, please, let me know.
again just the gap between the pistons and cylinder walls. so i'll decide if i have to replace them.
thanks to all.
Fernando.

.003-.005 taper and out of round is a good rule of thumb fpr cylinder wear. your manual should have wear limits in it as well as piston to wall clearance. not sure off the top of my head but i was thinking i used a .010 blade to check it.
