service engine soon light

i have an 87 trans am with a 305 tpi. It has 140000 miles on it. i hadnt driven it for a while, two weeks or so, then i took it for an hour drive on the freeway. the service engine soon light was on the whole way. as soon as i saw it i pulled over and checked everything, oil, trans fulid, i turned the off and on a ffew times but the light stayed on. i kept an eye on temp and oil press the rest of the trip but they were fine the whoole way. the next day i was goin to take it to a mechanic buyt the light was off and stayed off the whole time. should i be worried? anything i should check?

probably egr... code 32. Its probably coked up and not flowing after allt he years of service. See the teck articles on how to retreve codes. I believe they have a section on obtaining the codes in there.

oh... i wouldnt even bother worrying if it is a 32... i dont even have mine and it works fine but you can get preignition knock from the increased combustion temps.
