My buddy is looking for a stock auto 5.7 TPI L98. need a cheap engine here. In case you want to know he seized it when the engine ran bone dry of oil after the plug came loose.

I remember there was a guy that can "get engines like water" for cheap. are you still here?

On the west coast I know of a place that sells cheap flat tappet blocks, but shipping would negate the savings and your friend would probably rather have a roller block. Your best bet is making friends with a mechanic that can get warrantied long blocks, many have defects unrelated to the short block. Or you could try posting on your regional board to see if someone can help you out.

 

i do have a mechanic friend, but they got a 350 and said they can install it for 2300 (that includes the cost of the engine), but I think it was a non TPI. then they got another engine and it cost 1000 more. they are still looking for someone now. I just figured about asking thirdgen.
