Ok, I think I might have messed up. Just got my MSD wires and think they might not work. Instead of ordering the ones with 90 deg plug boots and HEI style distributor terminals, I ordered 90 deg plug boots with standard socket style distributor terminals. The HEI style are slightly smaller in diameter so I'm afraid the standard socket style will be too big to fit all the terminals on top of the distributor. Anybody know if they'll fit or not?

Don't give me too hard a time. I'd rather ask here than run out in the rain to check.

oh yeah, MSD gives a crimping/stripping tool with their universal fit wires. I didn't know that. Too bad I bought one also.

That sucks, you're right. And here I thought the only difference was the shape of the boot. Had hoped to get them on tomorrow too. Guess they're going back to Summit. On the other hand, I think I'll just get a new car.

 

You could get the correct terminals for hei and cut of the other ones. That should work fine if you don't mind messing new wires.

 

I am messing with new ones anyways since they are universal fit. I have to cut to length and crimp the ends on. Problem is, I have the wrong ends. I'm going to try finding HEI terminals somewhere local tomorrow but maybe should order the correct set in the meantime just in case. I'm having problems with the part numbers though. It doesn't seem that the numbers shown on Summit's website match the ones on MSDs site exactly. According to the MSD site, I want 3120. According to the Summit site, I want 3122. On the MSD box, I want 3123. Don't know what to do. Maybe I'll come across some HEI terminals on the sidewalk...
