Ok heres the situation I let my little bro take my car to school. Well he didnt know that you had to let it warm up seeing how i have a carb. Well teh dumbass starts it up puts it in Reverse then goes to school i guess at school it was still idleing high like at 1500 rpms eh didnt know what to do so he just shut it off. Now my car makes some weird noises. Like now when i shut it off it diesels after i turn the key. Any ideas? What could he have possibly f*cked up? Thanks!

 

sounds to me that the choke is stuck since it never kicked down even after the car warmed up

 

Regardless of the fuel system, you should let the engine warm up before placing a load on it.

I'll agree that the choke (and probably other linkages) need attention.
