i can't get my mcs to work on my 84 z28 and its running real rich and using a ton of gas. i know the selenoid is good because it was working on another car. i recently put the car together and just about everything is hooked up exept for the emissions stuff. i am running out of ideas of what could be wrong and am about to wait till xmas and get a holley. plz help, thx.

 

You need to have a working ECM, which includes the HEI, TPS, CTS, BARO, and O² sensor. If all of that is functioning, the ECM should try to control the MC solenoid. If the O² sensor is old, you may have a rich condition.

 

i think its a bad ecm. i took the cover off the ecm and there was a pin where the conectors go that was broken from too much power going through. we conected it and it didn't do anything but i'm thinking something else is fried too. do you think this could be it? how much does a new ecm cost and one from a junk yard?
