well wheres and interesting problem. i have a 86 suburban with a 350 and lately it when it starts cold it dies and wont start. i am thinking its the temperature sensor on the water neck that hooks up to a solenoid on the carb. there is a solenoid n the carb everyone is stunned i just need the name for the temp sensor.

There is a solenoid along side the carb, probably another one IN the carb, and a TPS in there as well.

You need a temperature switch. I believe that one opens at about 140°F.
