Car: 86 Z-28

Engine: 305 TPI

Transmission: 700R4

engine starts and dies

I try to start it and it starts up then dies . by the 4th or 5th time if it fires up it seems fine. till it sits to long(more than 6 hours) and i have to go throught it again. but once its running i can go where i need to park,get back in and it runs fine....help anyone!!!!
