do you think this will get me into high/mid 12's?

this winter I am building anew motor fo rmy car. here are the specs

355 engine
4340 forged crank
4340 forged rods
forged pistons (10:1)
- custom camshaft like traxion's
- 230º Intake Duration (Xtreme Lobe)
- 245º Exhaust Duration (Standard Hi-Lift Lobe)
- 0.544" Intake Lift (1.6's) / 0.548" Exhaust Lift (1.52's)
- 113 LSA
AFR 190cc heads
TPIS intake
SLP runners (semi-siamesed)
Ported plenum
SLP headers
mufflex 4" catback exhaust.

3000rpm stall converter
aluminum driveshaft
LCA brackets
LCA's
and 3.73 gears backing it all up.

do you think that will work w/ prom tuning to get me around 12.5 in teh 1/4? I just wanted to see what people thought before I ordered all of the parts

thanks

If you can hook, I'd give you a good shot at it. At least high 12s.

I think if you go with a miniram you got 12s easy I heard some not so good stuff from guys around here with the slp runners I know one guy even got slower with them?? how I don't know but they all went to something like the miniram , stealth or carb I know one of the guys gained about 5 car lengths by going to a miniram just cost to damn much money for me I will stay with my old camaros and there carbs LOL maybe thats just cause im getting old

I plan on switching to miniram or something later in the summer. it'll still be the old TPI beginning of summer though.

why not go 383 since you will be buying a new crank, rods and pistons anyway. Just clearance you block an you would be good to go.

I've read/was told that a 383 you have to run a small cam for clearance. and w/ that cam I was going ot go w/ I didn't think I could pull off the 383.

Well you have to get the right cam. A small circle base cam. They should be able to grind a cam to your specs.

I have a friend running over .650 lift in a 388. You just have to tell them what you need. Call comp and tell them you need a Xe282hr cam but in a small circle base grind. They should be able to help.

I was going to go with a 355, but since I was buying new bottom end stuff, why not just go with the 383. More hp and tq.

If you are not going to get 12's with traction then I am going to need to redo my whole engine. I am planning on running in the 12s with this combo

355
stock rods, crank
10.5:1 flattop pistons
224/236 .512 .525 112 LSA (1.6 rr)
Ported to hell TPI (for now, Mini Ram to come)
Pro Lighting 64cc heads (cleaned up) 2.02, 1.60
Custom Prom
Long tube headers
custom bent exhaust
Adj LCA's/relocation brackets, Panhard, Hopefully will get adj torque arm, SFC

Of course I will be loosing a lot of weight as well.

I have a friend running very similar and he is in the 12's with traction but that is very hard to come by. Now I do understand that with the TPI that I may only be in the low 13's but I am hoping for 12's with the right tune.

i like the carb setup..... simple.....not less sophisticated but more hands on........ carbed motors sound better.... its cheaper.......i just think its the way to go.... esp with a 383.
