Yet another race.....
Well, this is yet ANOTHER race, this one today. I didnt really want to race but I had to pop this dude egos balloon big time. I come into work as usual and am sitting out on the smoking patio, chatting with some coworkers. My friend Terry comes up and tells me this story about how our co-worker, Jeff, supposedly took this newer model Mustang GT down. Im already ready to bust out, because I know pretty much EVERYTHING about Jeff's car. Its a 1996 Honda Accord 16valve SOHC 4dr., 5 speed tranny, CAI, fart cannon, tinted windows, 17in. white spoke wheels, Banzai-lookin paint job, and Altezza (sp?) Taillights. This guy I had already raced before but it was really pathetic, I took him out of the hole and all, beat him but he made 101 excuses it wasnt funny and had people believing him. So, he tried sneaking his way out to make a pass or 2 at the local 1/8th mile track but my friend was there and watched him click off a 10.88 and a 11.03 pass before leaving. Supposedly he had "bad traction" because it was wet, lol. Anyways, this guy makes wild stories up, like how he smoked a Porsche 911, Dusted off an L98 IROC, and hung side by side with a Cobra.....funny stuff.
So, after hearing this story, I cant help but laugh, because I knew his car couldnt get close to a GT, those are like high/mid 13's cars and his is like a mid 16's car. So, i go into work and Jeff walks up to me and asks how i found out about him beating the GT, and I told him how and straight out called his
I told him GT's are high/mid 13's cars and there is no way he beat him and asked if the guy was actually racing. He said he did beat him and he only has "minor" trouble with Cobras
So, Im really tryin not to die laughing, cause this is classic BS but anyways, later on in the day, me and my friend Terry are talking about suspension on our vehicles and Jeff walks up and says his "coilover suspension makes it where he doesnt ever feel bumps" (Dude doesnt have coilover, my friend is the mechanic that put his motor and tranny in, so I know all there really is to know about ths car). I shot a look at him and told him to stop talking all the crap, his car is slow plain and simple and all his stories are BS. He told me my car isnt fast and I told him I know it isnt but Im not the one claiming I can take stock GT's lol. Then I straight up told him, lets race at lunch time out on this old deserted road, straight stretch, a little more than a 1/8th mile long. He said no and I told him, we both put 10 bucks on the line (Hey, I do need gas money for racin lol) and Ill give him a car head start. He said I was crazy and I told him take it or stop talkin crap. He said he'd do it and prepare to see his tail lights. So, When lunch time comes around, our buddy Rob goes up to the "finish line" to make sure theres a clear winner, no excuses or lies. Terry gets us lined up and as Im about to stage up, my front on his rear bumper, Jeff pulls up about 5 feet and says that that is a "true car length". SO, Im like, hell, let him cheat, just proving how much more pathetic he is. Terry gets us lined up and I didnt even have time to get my RPM's up when he dropped his hands and I come out eating a little and quickly get my nose up to Jeffs rear door and then I hit second and pull ahead to take about a little less than a car on him and when I shifted to third gear, and crossed, Rob said I had almost 2 cars on him. So, I get back to work, and collect my cash and for once, Jeff didnt make any excuses. So, that kinda made my day lol, considering the track was closed tonight, otherwise I would have told him to take it to the track but if I didnt shut him up now, he'd have made more and more stories up, and by next Friday, he'd have been beating Lambos

same thing happened to me with a guy at work who had a crx with v-tec head\fart can\rims\lights\and a body kit
i raced him in the truck back when it was stock put 6cars on him (we cut of at 90mph)

Good kill. Some honda owers never learn man. i rember i was pullnig into a turning lane once only to find a vtec prelude reving his car to 7k rpms acting generaly like a fool and once we turned i had to shut him down i put about 5 cars on him (from a 40 roll mind you) when we hit a light and he looked over grined and pulled off a blanket and i looked and saw a nitrous bottle with that i replyed "your gona need that and more" so we went and i dogged him it was quite sad by 120 i had about 7 cars on this kid (3 of which i gained outa the hole!) he got pissed and told me get this "you must have twintubro!"

yeah i do talk about my car alot at work. but i like to talk about my car. and people thier really think it's a cool car. like asking me what i've done and shyt. it's kinda cool cause half know alot about cars.a nd the other half don't know shyt. but i've got a couple nice races from my co-workers. i won. but they were just agianst imports. and a duster. lol.. just some stuff i add. nice kill. hope you shut him up for good.

Most honda owners act like asshats we all know that stu. Its my opinion but we all know they think vtecs has "Mad HP!" and that a pair of 17's and a fart cannon and they have 40 extra hp. So why dont you get off a Thirdgen site and actuly go somewhere where they want your negitive ***

Man, I swear I need to start ignoring r!cers. I guess Im a sucker for a race. Now, I know Ill be called dumb for this and flamed majorly for this because it was pretty dangerous but oh well, its nothing new to me. Im on the Gene Snyder Freeway, headin back from my friends house and so, Im cruisin, doin like 70 on CC (its a 65MPG zone anyways). Im just listening to the radio, kinda enjoyin the nice night. Well, absolutely NO ONE is on the Freeway/Expressway and its a bit odd but oh well. Well, I look in my side mirror and see these lights comin up REAL fast on my tail. Im thinkin "Crap, cops gonna pull me over and make me waste my time for nothin". But then I look again and see one of the headlights is real dim, and the bottom running light is burnt out, so I kinda get suspicious wonderin who in the hell is comin up on me that fast. Bout that time, dude switches into the left lane and comes up beside me, its a mid 90s black Accord, missin the front bumper "VTEC" emblems on the fender, AEM sticker on the back window, and a big Honda symbol sticker on the back.
So, Im just mindin my business tryin to ignore the dude. He's revvin his motor and lookin over at me (non-tinted windows). I look over, look his car over, **** my eyebrow and just shake my head "no", sayin I didnt wanna race. He revs it REAL high, sound like he hit a rev limitier, and I heard his turbo spool up and I was like "Dont race, dont race. Hes tryin to sucker you...". So, I just look over and tell him no again. So, then he gets mad, and gives me the finger and I see him mouth off "F*** You!" Right then, I said "Aw Hell NO!" So, he revs it up and dumps his clutch and tries to leave me gets like 3 cars on me, so I punch it to WOT, car kicks down into 2nd gear, hits like 6k or so RPM and I get up beside him and then leave him by like a car. Then, I let out, and she shifts back into OD, get beside him and shrugged my shoulders, he's madder than hell so he revs up again and throws it in gear, gets like half a car on me, I hit 3/4 throttle and pull about another car on him and then drop back, and start laughin at him. So, Im tired of this, punch it to only 3/4 throttle and he hits it again and I start leavin him, 1 car, and then my car dies, Im hittin the gas but the RPMs are dropping, Im like WTF? Did I blow it up? Run out of gas?...then i look at the speedo....it says 110 MPH and its goin down....I smack myself for this one...Damn speed limiter....And he passed me up and I just let it get back down to 70 MPH and went on home. Im sure he'll tell all his buddies that I got scared of him or something
Funny thing is, I know I heard his turbo and he was shifting madly but how in the hell did my little RS even pull on him? I would have thought that little Honda would've gotten me from a roll. I mean, the LO3 is pretty weak I gotta admit, considering mine is stock and the mods in my sig are it and my time is listed. Hell, tonight I even had the old stock cleaner on (Had an interested buyer and with the IAC unhooked with the Open Element and if the Check Engine Light came on, they might not have bought it lol) Whats up with this? I was able to play with that car. I mean, if i had been serious, I could have left him, I just wanted to play around with him (had to rub it in
), Id get about a car then let out, and hold up beside him. Stu, any insights here? Anyone actually, just Stu does seem to know alot about Hondas/Acuras.

Anyway, to the guy who beat the Accord. There are a couple of things here. First, when you heard the turbo, was it when he was in neutral revving at you? Because most Hondas I've ever seen can't spool the turbo without any load.
What kind of times does your car run? Becuase if he was just running say 5-7psi or something, he could still be pretty slow. Accords don't really have a good powerplant, and can't hold much boost. Even he swapped an H22 into his car, he'd have to build that motor to hold more than 7psi because they have thin cylinder walls.
So, my guess is that he is running some hacked up ghetto set-up with barely any boost and is still slow. I've driven my car at 5 psi, and it's not even worth the trouble to turbo it at that boost level.

there seems to be a lower number of all show no go imports on the road.maybe the ricers craze is dieing down.maybe we will not have a civic at every light wanting to race in the middle of rush hour traffic.man u need to just stop raceing all show no go cars.no matter how bad u beat them they will feel worse if u dont race at all.

Think what you want I guess. The F20 is a racecar motor, and the H22 is a motor for a sport compact. Besides, it wouldn't be worth the thousands of dollars it would take to try to put an H22 into the S2000. Remember that we are talking about cars with two different drive trains here.

Will a funny story do shifty? Well today going to school my normal 1 mile comute when otua nowhere a kid from school in a 65 impala (307 SLUG!) comes revin his little heart out tryin to race. All i had to do was down shift into second and pull him till top of second he automaticly asumes i have a supercharger and demands too see under my hood. See stu's right anyone with anycar car be an idiot

307s were really bad motors. There was a local guy with a very clean Chevelle (Im going to say 69, but not exactly sure, this was 4+ years ago) with a 307/autp. Car ran consistent mid 19s!

65 impalas didnt come with a 307 they came with either a 230ci 140hp I-6, 283ci 195hp V-8, 327ci 250hp V-8, 327ci 300hp V-8, 396ci 4 bbl 325hp V-8, 396ci 4 bbl 425hp V-8, 409ci 4 bbl 340hp V-8 and the 409ci 4 bbl 400hp V-8.
but regardless the impala wasnt a very fast car from the factory ...LOL...unless you had the 396 or 409
they were more of a cruiser instead of a bruiser..LMAO
regardless its funny to see someone in a big ol sled like that try and take on a thirdgen unless he is sporting some good power like the big blocks or a really well built small block ...
i own a 66 impala with a 283 thats built but i still wouldnt try and race anything but maybe a stock escort with it when i get it on the road it is just too big and bulky to do much with its more of a cruiser...

Aint nothing like a big bodied car that has lots of power. I cant wait to get a 66 chevelle with huge block, lol, not just a big block but a huge one. LOL
I love thirdgen size but those big bruisers are just intimidating.
