my cruise works but when i turn it off it still wants to keep going it takes a lil while for the rpm's to go back to normal, even if i turn it off stop turn the car off go in a store come back out and start it up the rpm's are still up, to me it seems like its a certain amount of time to go back to normal as opposed to what i do to it? i really dont use it much but i would like to use it on long trips sometimes so if anyone has any ideas let me know - thanks

 

Sounds like the cruise control cable is sticking. They tend to rust over time. Mine was so bad I couldn't turn the cruis control off. Try slowing down from 70 with your foot on the gas! Anyway try lubricating the cable that comes from the cruise control unit to the throttle arm. It looks like another throttle cable, but has a slot in the end where it attaches to the throttle arm. If it is still stuck, just grab one from a junkyard. Shouldn't be but a couple of bucks.
