Bad oil leak any suggestions?

i just bought my 85 Iroc...it has a rebilt engine with a little over 400 miles on it, for the past few days ive noticed its been leaking oil, and a decent amount. Its comming from the right side back of the engine somewhere but i dont have a lift to check this out yet. it covered the unercarriage of the car already and i was wondering if any of you have an idea as to what could be some likely causes. i hope its nothing major but i dont know...any suggestions would be very helpful

oil sender, valve covers would be two places i looked first. since it's all new and clean all you should have to do is trace the oil trail till you hit clean metal. if that doesn't work sprary it with brake clean and run the engine at 2000rpm, that should make it leak and leave a fresh trail.

Make sure it's not coming from the right front of the motor and accumulating on the back... what I am describing is a favorite new-motor mystery oil leak.... there are 2 bolt holes down low on the front of the block, right above the oil pan, to the pass side of the timing cover. The top one goes right into the crankcase; if there's no bolt in it, it will not leak at idle usually, but at highway speeds, it will absolutely spew. Put a short bolt (like 1" or ¾") with some silicone on the threads.
