Key stuck, cost to fix?
Key stuck, cost to fix?
The car is a 1987 Camaro, w/ a 2.8l v6 automatic. The lock cylinder will not turn, the key does come out though. I have tried to turn the steering wheel and the key at the same time but no luck. I have also tried playing with the shifter, it moves in and out of park. What I want to know is what a dealer or shop will charge me to have this fixed. Thanks in advance
hey
That has happened to me before...what i did was i just kept working on it trying to turn the ignition and eventually it will pop out then go to a hardware store and spray some graphite spray into the lock...It wont happen again

I replaced my gnition lock cylinder with a new one for $15 from Schucks. Mine was stuck on and wouldn't turn back i had to, turn the key to start and grind the starter to shut it off. All you need to do is pull the steering wheel off with a puller and remove the screw holding it in. Pull out the old one and put the new one in.
