Lower radiator hose question
Just a quickie. My lower radator hose burst the other week so I took it off and inside it there was a coil (like a large spring) inside it. Went to put the new one on today and I cn't for the life of me find that coil that was in it. I've never seen a coil in a radiator hose before and was wondering if it came from the factory or if it was added by a previous owner to try and stop the hose collapsing??
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks for the time

ede,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I can't find the spring anywhere and as this is my UK car and I'm currently over there I'll fabricate one from an old metal coat hanger or something. Should do the job just fine. Of course you do realize that I will find it in about 2 days time.

Mine didn't have the spring. My replacement didn't have one either. Personally I don't find the spring necessary. If the hose needs the spring to keep from collapsing then the hose is too soft/worn and needs to be replaced anyway.
I have yet to have any problems with my springless lower rad hose.
