EGR wont fit past Edelbrock Carb

EGR wont fit past Edelbrock Carb
I have an Edelbrock carb and the choke linkage is in the way of where th eEGR wants to sit. SO now I cant pass inspection. what can I do??

add a heat insulator under the carb, you can get them in 1/2", 1" and 2" i belive. if that's enough to do it it'd be cheap easy way to gain clearance.
