buy heads or just do cam?

i was wondering what you all think. the car has about 139k miles on it. i am for sure going to put the LT1 cam and a new intake on it. so should i invest some money in heads while i am at it? or should i just keep it as is and wait for the 350 down the road. (like when i actualy have a full time job) and no i am not gonna go out and just buy a 350 right away like everyone suggests. if you havent figured it out buy now, i have a little ole 305

Follow the link at the end of my sig. Your 305 heads will work really well when done right, even on a 350 or 400. Or pick up a set from the wreckers--just NO TBI heads. Stick to TPI or carbed versions; 081, 416 or 601s.

Lots of people are doing up their high mileage 305s, as long as the rings and bearings are good it will go for several more years

When you are already commited to a cam and intake, it is just about the single greatest time to swap the heads, too.

First off what are your goals? If you just wanna run 14s stick with what you got, if you want faster, I'd go with a 350.

Granted you can do 13s with a 305, I'm just sayin it will be easier in the long run with a 350.
