egr, code 33 and vacuum lines
egr, code 33 and vacuum lines
I have a problem with a rough idle on my 88 IROC 350 TPI. Have searched the boards but unable to find info I need. I had codes 32 & 33 and have replaced the egr valve and temp switch and solenoid and this cleared code 32. Have also replaced the MAF power and burn off relays and sensor but still getting code 33. Have cleared the codes but it comes back almost immediately at start up. Car idles between 550 & 650 rpm. When driving it runs fine but sometimes coming to a stop idle flutters and on occasion car stalls. I have also replaced IAC and TPS and adjusted TPS to 0.57V -has about 4.4V at WOT.
Some boards indicate a vacuum leak could be the problem. Have checked lines with a vacuum pump and they are okay but I notice that on the egr solenoid there are two lines coming in - one from the egr valve and the other from the throttle body but there is another connection on the egr solenoid without any hose on it. Not sure if I missed something out when putting in the new parts or if this is the way it should be. Also on the hose from the throttle body to the CCV there is a T-peice with an open end should this have a hose connected to it?
Appreciate if any one has any ideas ? I suppose there is the possibility the MAF sensor could be bad - it is under warranty so I can always get it changed.
Thanks
Andrew
