How much HP will this 350 make?
A buddy of mine has a 350 (we think) in his truck. It has the horrible 333882 heads on it. He bought a set of heads off some guy and guess what...same thing. Its gonna have a lunati cam .420/.442 lift rpm range 1000-5000, a holley street dominator intake, and a 600cfm carb...is this thing gonna move a 85 custom deluxe?

With manifolds, you're looking at around 230 HP; with headers, maybe 260 HP.
Depends on your definition of "move". Probably wouldn't measure up to my definition.

i would suggest a better cam...that cam is weak...get something with more lift and headers are a must if you wanna make max power. heads that flow better and have a smaller combustion chamber like something with a 64 cc chamber would help alot....882 are not good heads ...not good for anything excpet anchoring small water craft
If that motor would make 230hp with those heads and manifold what is my motor making??
He cant afford anything else right now. He bought a set of heads from a guy and guess what...same damn thing he has. Im not sure what his compression is either but id say its pretty low...I think its a 70s motor. It has the drivers side dipstick so it is probably a low compression motor.

keep in mind if its heavy then bigger isnt better. a bigger cam might make more power but it will also make it harder to that thing moving. whats the gearings / stall speed? that will heavilly affect cam choice.
we really have no idea whats in this truck...not even positive its a 350 yet. The truck started out as a 4.3 now it has some type of small block in it. When he bought it, it has the 333882 heads on it, manifold, a REALLY old edelbrock single plane, q-jet and we have no idea what the cam is.

is there a place on the engine you can get a casting # and find out what it really is?

Yeah there is I tried to get it the other night but I couldnt tell what the numbers said...to much gunk back there. I was actually just looking for 5.7 or whatever like mine has. If it has the original heads on it the truck has a 400 in it which would be awesome.
