350 from van
350 from van
A 350 engine for possible swap (1984-5?) has vacume advance and computer wires from distributer. The Q-jet has a plug for the mixture sol. but no plug for the TPS sol. Is this thing some sort of half-way computer controlled system ? The seller says it was converted from computer to vacume advance, allthough I,m fairly sure the computer wires came out of the dist. $450 with a Turbo 350 trans. and the rest of the van.

Guess what? Forget about the carb/distributor on the 350. Use your LG4 stuff with the 350 under it. Upgrade the exhaust (headers, high flow y-pipe/cat/cat-back), air cleaner (dual snorkel - factory or home-made). Many smiles over many miles.
Really want to smile? Change cam/heads while you're at it.
But, don't worry about the van carb/dist. Absolutely not an issue.
Oh, my '84 van has computer, 4-wire connector to distributor, vacuum advance, nothing electronic to/from the carb (actually have an Edelbrock q-jet on it now), TH700. Weird, huh?
