i know i guy that has a 383(with tbi intake) with about 350 horses he just built and i have a 92 rs 305 tbi and he said for 3,000 dollars he'll give me the engine and put it in for me. and hes positive it will run. is he full of **** .will it run ,or will it run right .wouldnt i have to change computers ,injector ,etc .he said everything will bolt right up(i know that) and it will run perfect .no changing anything. any information on this will help thank you in advance

 

very slim chance it'll run right, and tbi isn't know for any great preformance, at the very least you should expect the ecm and prom to need changed to make it run right.

If you want an engine with the powerband characteristics of a diesel go ahead. TBI and performance=

 

With the right combination of parts and proper planning a TBI (yes I said a TBI) will give you performance comparible to any camaro regardless of the induction system (normally aspirated, of course). Do your research on the motor and find out the parts the guy used on this motor and make your induction system and exhaust system are up to the challenge. If everything you find out from the guy meets the sniff test, go for it.
You will definately need some prom tuning done to get fuel and spark curves correct. IMO it can be done.:rockon:

 

i just wanted to know if it will work or what i need to make it work because i dont have the money to carb it so if it will work then ill do it and save up and slowly buy the parts to carb it then when i have all the parts im going to change it

 

The computer will definitely have to be changed. For performance, the TBI unit you have will have to go. You would have to get something like the Holley DFI unit. Even if the guy does get it running, it will probably run like $hit.
