You didn't mention the "magic" year of your car, or the model, but make sure either the "CTSY" or "ACC" fuse isn't burnt out... that fuse runs the dome lights, cigarette lighter, horn, radio memory, etc... make sure there's no penny in the cig lighter.

Tom,

Sorry. 84 Z 28.

No fuses are blown. I checked every one of them, twice, carefully. I've looked at one before that I thought was good and upon further review was blown!

Although, we're probably on to something. Since I owned the car, the dome lights or horn haven't worked. So maybe there is a connection.

Sounds like it is a fuse. Although you might want to pop the hood and check all the wires to see if there are any little holes in any of the cases. Depending on how the other guy stored the car it could have gotten a mouse in there that chewed some of the wires. Just another thing to check out.

...or LACK of connecction.

Do the dome lights work if you use the dome override on the instrument panel dimmer control?

Is there voltage at one side of the dome lamp socket at all times? (should be)

Have you tried grounding the circuit directly from one of the lamp sockets? (obviously, on the ground side ONLY)

Getting these answers will get us closer.

This sounds like the problem I had when somebody dropped a dime into the cigarette lighter. I kept blowing fuses and the dome light, horn, and CD player wouldn't work. And of course, the cigarette lighter (thank *** I don't smoke ). If you pull out your supposedly good courtesy fuse and put a brand new one in there, does it give you a nice blue spark? That's what mine was doing.

Lord Vader,

It seems you are WRONG. There is a corrolation, my car and the idiot owner! Although you probably picked up on that one but were just being generally pleasant to the wildlife and decided not point it out.

Do the lights run in a series? I changed the drivers side light bulb on a lark (near the clutch) and then both of the bottom lights worked, passenger and driver's side.

The bulb looked fine, even after I knew it was bad and compared it to a good one.......so that's fixed. The dome light up top is a different story, but I know what's wrong with that one.

So how about helping me on the next one.

Great! About six more "wrongs" and I'll be at my daily quota...

But, no, the interior lights are wired in parallel, not series (unless you've installed some of those neon-look string lights in your ride).
