Why are there different part numbers for vette and fbody TPI gaskets?
nt
The reason im asking is because I got a gasket set for my fbody L98 but I put vette heads on the new motor and I have vacuum leaks at every intake port. Are the lower manifold gaskets different or are there other pieces in a vette set? Thanks

Felpro part number for the vette is MS93318 and for a fbody is MS93035-1. The upper only set is the same part number being MS93160.

I think some of the vette l98's had the older style intake face but im using the gaskets for the f-body L-98 on my pre 86 motor with no problems. theyre all the same. Who makes the gaskets? I have the felpro ones and they work great.

I would think that they are different. Each one is made to match either the cast or alum head. When you got the head gaskets, did you get ones for the alum heads?

steve did bring up an important point, some gaskets have inadiquate crushability so they wont seal properly.

Thanks, ill get the gasket set for the corvette aluminum heads and I hope that will fix my massive leak. The leak combined with my hot cam leaves me is little power brakes.

Two things. All L98 vettes have the older pre-87 intake bolt configuration, so this could be a problem when you're looking for gaskets for an '87-later f-body tpi engine. Also, the aluminum heads on vette L98's don't have a heat crossover (EGR passage) like the standard iron tpi heads. They have some kind of plumbing from the exhaust manifolds directly to the intake for the EGR function.
