My wife's car has that antifreeze smell coming from under the hood.It's not running hot,no water in the floorboard,and no leaks on top of the motor or hose.Why would this smell be so strong?

 

check the intake manifold for leaks! the hardest one to see is under the throttle body the rubber gasket leaks just enough were you can smell it like that it can drip on the trans housing and dry up befor it makes it to the ground. till it gets bad then you will see it plane as day

 

Yeah, i've seen the 3.8L plastic intakes leak right under the throttle body. It's hard to see. Those intakes get brittle after having coolant run through them and they crack.
