OK...Umm well off hand I am unsure, but someone here will know for sure, just going to have to wait for that one person. Vader is the most likely candidate to answer this question, he is very knowledgeable with this stuff.

From a budget hi performance build up point of view
the 081 heads are better than the 193 heads.
The 193 heads are "swirlport heads" They don't respond well to porting. They have a funny shaped port, designed for high swirl on a low performance motor. This shape limits the amount of flow but enhances swirl. They have limited hi performance potential. If your looking for more horsepower, forget these.
On the other hand the 081 heads are one of the best
late stock heads to start with for a budget hi performance build up. The have full sized ports that respond well to porting and upgradeing with bigger valves. They have a well shaped compact combustion chamber that makes it easier to get a decent finished compression ratio on either the 350 or 305. They have 58cc chambers but will end up being about 61 cc's once you relieve the chambers for larger hi flow 1.94 x1.60 valves. You can shave them down a bit to restore the 58cc chamber size if nessessary.
It all depends on how much work your willing to put into
them. The potential is there. They need a thourough porting and the larger valves. If thats just not your thing, then get the vortecs. They work well. You won't be disappointed.
