can I use my old tranny cooler as an oil cooler?

today I replaced my radiator and saw that the flex lines to the tranny cooler in front of the radiator were leaking.
since the radiator has a tranny cooler in it (truck) I decided to just put the hardlines back into the radiator.

but now I have this cooler and nothing to do with it.

could I get an oil cooler provision -- like one you put in between the oil filter and block, and run the lines to this tranny cooler??

the cooler is fine, no dings and the ports look good.

Yes of course you could do that. But... really... I think it would be a waste of time.

i wouldn't use it. fro an oil cooler i'd want threaded fittings and not hose barbs. it's a good idea to have a cooler on the trans and oil, seperate from the radiator.

how would it be useless if it cooled the oil?

So I shouldent use it because It doesnt have threaded fittings?
I didnt think the oil pump would generate more pressure than the tranny pump...

I already have a transmission cooler intergrated into the radiator.

That won't do you any good. Think about it. That tranny fluid is running through the same radiator that 200* coolant runs through. You want them seperate and the tranny cooler near the top right (facing the truck) side of the radiator (in front of it). This is where the hot coolant enters the radiator so the hot air coming off the tranny cooler won't effect it. This allows the most efficient cooling out of both.
