starting problem
today i went to move my car to get some x-mas stuff out of the attic and i find my car wont start so i pushed it out to jump start it when i tried to start it the starter clicked a couple of time then made a grinding noise as i was pushing it back i had the key on i heard a squealing noise coming from the engine bay when i got back in to put the car in park i noticed the tach was peged at 7000. thanks for the help
CTH,
If you left the ignition on for an extended period without the engine running, you may have overheated the ignition coil and/or HEI switching module. That might explain the tachometer display, but I'm at a loss for the squealing noise. The only possible explanation I can think of is that the overheated part make have expanded and made some sort of sound before it completely fried.
