leaving my car at home this semester of college....what prevent. maintenance to do?
I was ran off the road on new years eve....ran over a median, crushing my y-pipe, oil pan, bending the driverside header all to hell, and breaking a rim. I've been needing a new oil pan, and have been wanting new wheels and headers (isn't that weird?) So I've decided to let my car sit at home till this summer. What preventative maintenance should be done to make it easier to get it back in tip-top shape when I get back (4 months from now). The car will NOT be garaged. I dont wanna disconnect the battery so that I can leave the alarm on. What all needs to be done? Keep in mind that oil pan holds NO oil, so the car cannot be started or moved. Will having no oil in it be a problem? I know what i'm doing when it comes to cars, but i've never had to deal w/ a car sitting up for a period of time, so any help would be appreciated...thanks guys.
well ive garaged my camaro for the last three years and havent had any problems with my car when i get it back so heres what you should do. first of all im sure you already know you should get a car cover. if you dont your paint and interior will fade. secondly put some stabil in your gas tank, follow directions carefully, this stuff is great because when you get your car back you dont have to worry about having bad gas in your ride. another few tips is to crack your window just a hair to relieve pressure off of it so it dont break, also fill your tires to around 35 psi. do all these things and you should be good to go

Just got home from buying a car cover
Will inflating to 35psi keep me from having to worry about flat spots? Thanks for your help...

well i dont know about flat spots, seems like it would prevent them not sure though, but i was also told to inflate tires at a high pressure, dunno why i just do. another things you might want to do if your car is going to be stored outside is to close your exhaust tips so that no animals get in there, just thought id throw that in there, good luck man!
