Oil Pressure Guage Help
well, i got an oil pressure guage...i have a 92 camaro, the guage i have has a tube coming out of it (Mechanical guage?) and im wondering, how do i install it? it came with two fittings and it says it has to go into the "Pressure Port"....where is that? since i have an electrical oil pressure guage (stock) now, might there be a sensor in there? if i take out the sensor and swap it for the mechanical one, would i get a trouble code?
please help me!!!!!

i guess i should ask, why do you want another one?
dont forget that your oil pressure swith also doubles as your fuel pump relay when your actual fuel pump relay bites the dust
IMHO, i'd keep the stock one, if its not broke dont fix it, and if it is broke, fix it with the correct replacement

unless gm changed the sender above te oil filter is for the fuel pump and the gauge sender is on the china wall near the distributor. remove the sender on the china wall and run the mechanical gauge from there. if there is no sender in the china wall there should be a plug, so remove it and run the mechanical gauge from there. i'd trash the plastic tube and run copper.

ede, all the v-8's in the 3rd gens have both of the oil pressure ports that you described. However, the 2.8 and 3.1 V-6 have the port above the oil filter.
92RsMuscle, YOU HAVE TO use a T or a three-way splitter on your car. 91 is right, there is the secondary switch for your fuel pump there too, If it sees no oil pressure, no fuel.
By the way as ede mentioned before also use copper tubing. The plastic becomes brittle over time and WILL leak or break, probably while driving. Or can melt.
