Fuel Gauge question

Ive been reading all the topics I can find on here about the fuel gauge going all the way past full and just staying there. I went and followed the pink wire for the gauge all the way back and it tests fine.(not grounded testing it)

I tried testing the resistance on the line later and it was sitting at 54 ohms with the ignition off. Does anyone know if this would be a bad sending unit or maybe a bad gauge? Its been driving me nuts :lala:

The gauge wire is purple, not pink. Did you just get the colors mixed up??

If that was the right wire, 54 ohms would indicate around 1/2 tank of gas......yet your gauge reads full all the time. It takes 90+ ohms to indicate a full tank so I'd check for any unwanted resistance from the gauge to the tank. Check the pins in the fuel tank harness for damage or big gaps. Otherwise it may be the gauge....
