Difference between the 217s and the 083 heads?

I am looking to replace my 083 heads but I can’t find a set, but I have found a nice set of 217s. I know they are very similar to each other. Both having a 1.94” intake and 1.50” exhaust with a 64cc chamber and both of them came on crate motors that had 275-300hp. What are the differences between them that would require a different cast? Thanks Matt

Better measure the chamber on the 217's

They're more like 76cc's

Not everywhere. Cause I just wrote that they are 76cc's.

Since you have them there the only sure way to know is to cc them.

All you need is a 100 ML graduated cylinder (pharmacy)
and old CD rom disc and some light grease or vaseline.
A spark plug and some water.

Coat the bottom of the cd and the edge of the valve heads with some grease to stop any water from leaking.

Fill up the graduated cylinder to 100ML.

Pour the water from the cylinder into the hole in the CD
till the chamber is full. Noting the remainer left in the cylinder.
subtract the remaining water from 100ML and that is the volume
of the chamber. 1ML = 1cc.

5 minute job
