1987 LG4 cam?

I was curious to know, in 1987 the LG4's compression was bumped up to 9.3 from 8.6. did GM change the type of cam also? I know it was the first year for the newer style block with the centerbolt heads. Every site that I look at says that in 1987 and up it was a roller cam. At the same time most 1987 cars were either TBI or TPI. I have a 4bbl that at one time was computer controlled. I just want to make sure that I get the right cam, the first time.

The 87 LG4 has the exact same camshaft as the 88-92 L03's.
