Console lid spring
Hey has anyone had a problem with the lid button spring breaking? I bought a replacement spring but it looks nothing like the original. Any thoughts?

The early design lid used a flat piece of spring steel that would fatigue and fail. It was replaced later with a torsion spring design.

Now, are you guys talking about this spring? This one is the one that lifts the lid up right? The one that is in the push button is the one that I need to figure out how to replace. Sorry about the quality it is a bit blurry. Do ya'll know if there is a exploded view of this thing?

I was talking about the button spring. The whole lid was replaced as an assembly, so I don't know if there'll be an exploded diagram anywhere.

Sorry if I misunderstood your post. The one for the lid button(?) is beyond me. Mine doesn't have a latch.
