Cowel/Scoop options
Cowel/Scoop options
Which option would be most effective on my hood?
Cowl Induction?
Functional crossfire style scoops?
Both?
The hood i'm making is kind of like a higher daytona hood streched to meet the body lines on the stock hood
Anyways, it has a cowl shape and will go back close to the windshield, and would be able to make use of the high pressure area there, also, it has the stock scoops/dummy vents which could be made operational.
When sealed up to the carb or throttle body, would the crossfire style vents prduce a 'boost' effect at higher speeds if the hood was sealed off? or would it merely function as a glorified cold air intake?
If it is merely a glorified cold air intake, would it add or subtract from the functionality of a cowl hood?
I will most likely be running a stealth ram set up, or alterntively, an edelbruck efi set up when all is said and done
Thanks

The Cowl hood IS ram air, believe it or not. The base of the windshield is a high pressure area. And it's basically non-turbulent air.
Neat way to hook it up if you're using a carburetor setup is to buy a cold air inducion system designed for a cowl induction hood from these guys:

Cost is pretty reasonable but you'll have to tweak it to make it fit your car exactly- easy to do since it's just fiberglass and some tubing.
