HEADS: I have the cast numbers, what are they?
I just adjusted my valves today. (I enjoy being able to step on it with out hearing the clatter now.) Anyway, I wrote the cast numbers down from my heads.
Can someone run the numbers and tell me what kind of heads I have?
The passenger's side reads :
3927188
E2201 GM 53
The driver's side reads:
3947041
ka s GM 8
Oh yeah, when I was doing the valves, why doesn't oil spit out at me? It only seemed to spit at different tightnesses of the rockers. If I loosened it, oil would spit. If I tightened it, the oil would seep. Should I change my oil a few times to clean out the engine?

You have one 327 2-barrel 74cc head (188) and one double-hump 64cc hot-rod head (041) from a 302 or LT-1 type of motor. So half your cyls are at one CR with great flow, and the other half at a much lower CR with much poorer flow.
Yuck.

Well if infact these are the casting numbers on your heads.
One side is a 69/70 307/327 low perf 74cc head
while the other side has a (041) 69/70 302/350 hi perf head
64cc
Must run real good. Best look into that one.

Go to www.mortec.com and print out the sbc heads list, then when you look at heads to the numbers up on the sheet and find out what they are!!
