help!! wireing fuel pump

I did a search for how to wire the fuel pump, for a 90 camaro tbi to carb swap. It told me to splice into the tan and white wire, and run it to a hot power source. The problem lies in that I don't have a tan and white wire, I only have a black, gray, and purple wire. I need an answer fast, any input would be great!!!! THANKS

thanks, but I have my fuel lines hooked to nothing with no motor in the car. Will hooking up the batt and turn the key on turn the fuel pump on and pump fuel? If so I don't want to do that. I plan on running a wire from my fuse panel on the ing fuse, and to the pos for the pump.

the pump will prime..then shut off, just catch the small amount of fuel in a jug or can.. then test the wires...you can use the existing wires, just jump the relay to the ignition..a keyed sorce..
