Was wondering if someone could run some numbers in comparison to what I've got with my dyno program.

.030 over 305
zz4 cam
s/r torquer 305 heads
625 cfm carb
high rise dual plane

RPM Power Torque
1125 33HP 153 lbs-ft
2250 113 263
3375 211 328
4500 300 350
4875 290 312
5250 296 296
5625 299 279
6000 300 263

If ya need more info I can provide it

Uhhh....ok, here it is

Seems kinda weak on the bottom end for this cam....so I wanna see what you guys are getting and compare the two. I'm not so sure this program is too accurate.

Looks to me like too much intake....

You're set up to shift at over 6000 RPM, not too wise unless this is a heavily beefed up bottom end.

A more moderate intake such as a Perf RPM will give it back some low end.

Hmm, I don't have a ZZ4 cam file so I used the LT1 cam.

Gingo's...this really shows the difference between Carb vs TPI...same motor other than .030 over and 625cfm carb...wonder what the XE262 would come up at with your combo??

WOW!!! Just goes to show you that there can be differences in dyno programs. My actual bore size is 3.766" and I'm running 9.25:1 compression should be good for a little more power

Should be a nice torquey 305!!

Anyways here's a pic of the motor:

'88 305 .030" over
Speed Pro flat top hypers/Moly rings
Crank ground 10/10
Reconditioned 350 rods with ARP bolts
ZZ4 Cam
Edelbrock Tru Roller Timing set
....and some chrome goodies to make it go faster....hehehe

Hey Kiwi,

what do you mean by the carb/tpi thing? IMO carbs have been keeping up with the times. Carbs today are waaay better than they used to be.

Anybody,

How much you think I would be pulling outta this motor, considering DD2k kinda exaggerates it's figures?

Oh, I just had a DT Dyno thing done using my 305 tpi with XE262 and it came out producing roughly 280hp with the bits I've got coming, yet yours is producing alot more. But looking at it you have a larger cam than I have coming. Though I run 9.5:1..just found it interesting.

I've always been told get the most lift for the duration of the cam you want to use, I figured since the 305 is power challenged in the first place I'd use a short duration cam to help build power in the lower RPM band, then I saw the lift figures for the ZZ4. Couldn't find anything with that kinda lift with that duration from Comp or Crane. And since it's a GM Performance part it wasn't altogether expensive.

Copy that...I'm stuck with the tpi/comp controlled car so I guess I have to run a milder cam.
