well it seems as if im going to run into a rather large sum of money in the near future, so i am going to throw an LS6 into my car, but when i looked to buy one, it didnt come with the computer?? why is that so? does anyone happen to know about this, is it the same as the LS1 computer? would the computer not work in my car?? any help would be LUVED

 

you NEED to find an ls6 with computer, wiring harness, trans...basically everything intact on it.

Getting anything else would just be a major headache. The problem is most recyclers dont like to remove all the wiring and computers as a whole, it's much easier for them to just cut the wires and rip the engine out. Their logic is that any new vette that needs the engine is going to have the wiring and computer already in it anyway.

 

its not out of a car, its a LS6 crate from jim pace parts. they sell the complete long block but without comp and wiring harness.

If I was dropping the cah for a new LS6, I wouldn't mess with a used harness ripped out of a junk yard. Get one custom made for your application, it will take a lot of headache out of the project. Here's one company that can do it, I'm sure there's others:
