Hey...
How do I figure out if my engine and trannies are original
and I'd like to find out a little more about them
It's and 85 305 carburated, the carburator is original

Engine: L98
Transmission: TH700-R4
the engine ismost likely the LG4 305. if the carb is original and the 8th digit of your VIN is an "H," its a good chance its the original motor.

How do I know for sure
I was told the engine and tranny were replaced
But I really have a tough time believing that tranny was replaced... certainly wasn't done correctly.

if your 8th digit on your VIN number is an 8, that means the car originally came equipped with the LG4 305, and you said you have the original carb so its a good chance thats the engine you have...
