car will not start
car will not start
I own a 92 Firebird with a v6 (3.1). Last week the car would not start (engine cranked but wouldn't turn over). I check the distributor cap (I had problems with this last year) and the contact were pitted. After I replace the cap, rotor and spark plugs (they were fouled) the car started immediately. The car was driven a couple of times, then on thursday the car would not start again, same problem, cranks but will not start. I tried starting fluid to see if it was gas related and no luck. I also pulled a spark plug wire and checked for spark. The spark was orange colored, I am thinking i have a weak spark. I am leaning towards either the pick-up coil or the coil. Any thoughts? Also, the car started to give an erratic idle when you go to stop. I jumped the computer and got codes 34 & 45. I know the 45 is the O2 sensor.

43: TPS (Throttle position sensor) out of adjustment OR knock sensor signal error OR low voltage at electronic spark timing control.
44: Oxygen sensor lean error.
You were right on the noise about the low power/spark it seems.
I hope # 43 helps you figure what the problem is bud.
